Hi there!
My name is Emily, and I’ve been quilting for about 12 years. I grew up around sewing machines and fabric because my mom is a quilter and was always working on something. It was almost inevitable that I’d get sucked in at some point!
It all started when I was 16 and my mother asked me to help her at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK, where she had a stand to sell her quilting frames. It was quite the adventure, and really got me hooked on quilting. Ever since then I’ve been doodling and quilting as much as possible.
In 2012 I started my first foray into what I call “thread painting” – using the thread as paint to make a picture. This is what is currently giving me a LOT of joy, and I have many more projects lined up for the future!
